Burying La Santa Muerte When She Breaks

Hey everyone,

This is not the post I ever wanted to make, but unfortunately, I must make it.

On my way back home from Denver, my Santisima definitely caught a hit. We had a smooth ride up until 30 mins away from our home. Someone almost hit us and caused an accident on MY SIDE of the car. As y’all know, I’m pregnant. My little Blue Santa Muerte took that hit for me.

Today, we must bury her as she is NOT fixable. I’m emotional about it because she was a mini statue I FOUND one day in 2021. As you can see in the photo below, she already took a hit at that scythe once. That was how I found her. I was able to fix the scythe then. It’s a slightly thicker base than where the scythe broke this time.

Now, usually, it is customary to get a white cloth and bury her in the cemetery or a graveyard in a very neutral place, or send her down the river. Because I am pregnant, I will be burying her close to home as her final resting place since I cannot go into those places until after I give birth. She still allowed myself and my family to arrive here safely, so she will be in sight.

Because I couldn’t find a nice white cloth I could use to bury her, I was out at the craft store and found a mini coffin. Something she fits in beautifully. This will be how she is buried.

Because I found her, I wanna make her burial mean something. I painted her coffin black, decorated it & added a white cloth inside for comfort. I then lit an incense to consecrate and bless the inside for her.

I HATE that this needed to be done during novena week, but she has done so much for me, the least I could do, is make it comfortable for her.

Thank y’all for reading.

Love y’all!

XOXO
