Descriptors

Descriptor : noun. a word or expression used to describe or identify something

Do you ever think about what your descriptors are? The ones where the whole world identifies you with?

Throughout my life, I felt as if my descriptors were actually psychological punches of disapproval from the ones I loved the most when in reality, they were the exact motivators to keep me going.

I am trying to find a way through my spiritual journey with myself to accept people’s descriptors of me as their experience of me rather than as an offense.

I am trying to sift through those descriptors that are truly jabs and hits from someone’s foul soul.

I had someone tell me that this work aint for me. They asked me, “How could you do Tarot and give people advice with the way you think and feel?”

They implied it in a way as if the descriptor of me was “wrong, selfish, and incompetent.” Little do they know, if they were doing the work, that their “wrong, selfish, and incompetent” is another’s “wise, generous, and empowering.”

Descriptors may not always be true to your form, but they are the only way us humans are able to communicate effectively, even if it makes you as the receiver defensive.

Today, my descriptors are:

  • Encouraging

  • Delightful

  • Strong

  • Emotional

  • Fueled

  • Sweet

  • Grounded

For today, this shall do.

XOXO,

A
