I’m starting to phase from you as the craving I once had is no longer the delicacy in my diet.

My heart holds the megalodon that waits until the darkness arrives to feed on what’s necessary to survive in this world of wonder.

The feeling of loneliness compels me, consumes me, but it demolishes any logical sense when I look at you as I swim toward your love.

My eyes twinkle in yours, the sound of my tail thrashing until you disappear and reject how much space I really hold.

I am once again too big in your shallow pond.

I am already too big for the ocean of secrets in which the Titanic sank.

As I swim back into the darkness, and hide from the poachers and fisherman trying to capture me, to cut my fin and throw me back into the waves so I fall to the ocean floor, I still look for you. I look for you to feed, to feel free, to feel safe even if it is for the moment.

But I fear you don’t love me the way you used to anymore, so I starve myself. I swim alone with nothing but the salt of my tears colliding with the salt in this ocean.

I survived so many millennia without you before I tasted your blood..but I will become extinct when I stop going back to you to ensure I remain safe and sound.
