Today I wanna touch on a topic that a lot of people have mixed feelings about, Especially when it comes to La Santa Muerte. We are going to touch up on the bubbles in her cup.
Many people get very distraught when they do not see bubbles in her water cups. Sometimes not seeing any bubbles just means that she’s working. She has over 2 million devotees and growing across the world, it is naïve to believe that she is always in the presence of us. Although she is always with us, as long as you pray, venerate, and offer her what she needs, bubbles aren’t always everything. We love when we see them, and she is active at our alters, but it’s not always necessary.
However, over the past seven years, I’ve noticed that sometimes no bubbles is actually because of the ACTUAL CUP. Meaning, she doesn’t like the cup anymore. Now, it seems like such a simple, mundane type of coincidence, that depending on the cup her water is in, she may not like it, but that’s when I’ve started to see that if she doesn’t like the cup, she’ll occupy my water bottle which immediately becomes hers.
Now this is usually when I would say, remove the cups that are on her altar, go into your own pantry and cupboards, select brand new glasses, and offer her water in those. Go ahead and clean the other cups to use at a different time. If you would like to purchase her a new set of glasses, go ahead and do so. You will probably see bubbles again at your altar because of the cup now the water is in.
We should always be cleaning her cups every time we offer her water along with blessing her cups with incense, but sometimes you may actually have to go out and just switch the glass itself out.
